Top rated filmmakers die in NSW chopper crash

An award-winning American cinematographer and the Australian writer-producer of one of 2011's top rated-grossing Australian movies have died in a fiery helicopter crash on the NSW south coast. The useless males have been named on social press sites as Mike deGruy, aged sixty, from Santa Barbara in California, and Andrew Wight, aged 51, from Victoria.
The two died when their helicopter crashed as it was getting off from an airstrip south of Berry on Saturday afternoon.
They have been reportedly scouting areas for an approaching undertaking.
David Bennett, president of the South Coast Recreational Flying Club, mentioned the males had set off to do some filming for a documentary at Jervis Bay.
Mr deGruy had won several BAFTA and Emmy awards for cinematography. He was a specialist in underwater cinematography.
Mr Wight was the author-producer of the 3D film Sanctum, which was shot on the Gold Coast and went on to consider $100m worldwide at the box office final year. Sanctum was mentioned to have been based mostly on his around-death knowledge in an underwater cave.
At the time of the crash, Wight was reportedly functioning on a venture with American director James Cameron, the guy guiding Titanic and Avatar. Mr Cameron was the govt producer of Sanctum.
